American Cancer Society East Bay

East Bay Gala is an American Cancer Society event hosted every year since 2010 and has raised two million dollars supporting ACS services, research, and advocacy.

For 2020, they decided to take the gala in a different direction, changing their logo and event name, and focusing their mission around raising awareness of the cancer disparities facing marginalized communities and advancing healthy equity.

My job was to take their new image and establish them as health equity thought leaders by giving them a voice to express their important message.

Launching during a pandemic, BLM protests, and pride month, we knew the health equity message was important now more than ever. While remaining sensitive to these topics, I managed the content creation and worked closely with a designer to create the appropriate look and feel that conveyed the EBG message.
